Tribute - Anthea and David

Anthea: Lanti was my big sister and I was just her pesky little
sister who stalked her and railroaded her into some of my
very strange games like “Haggis hunting” armed with strings
of conkers and various blood curling cries; I must have really
cramped her teenage years. However time passed and we
grew closer and closer, eventually Antiques came into our
lives and pot collecting amongst other things became an
obsession with both of us.

David: …and do you remember those wonderful holidays in
Splugen as a family trying to learn to Ski.

Anthea: Lanti, David and I had some great and memorable
holidays together, primarily in the South of France with our
great friends Sue and Ham, known by Lant’s offspring as
“Ham and Eggs”.

We can’t forget the occasion we were invited to dinner by the
local “Monsieur le Mayor” and his lady for Haricots Gris and
similarly coloured lamb chops….. and they say the English
can’t cook???

David: …after which we returned to Sue and Ham’s house
with much excitement at the forecast of a shooting star
display. We took to laying on blankets and mattresses in the
garden armed heavily with copious amounts of wine and
loads of laughter. The show started and of course Lanti
spotted the first of the action, she was enthralled. What a
memorable night.

Anthea: …also Venice played a big part in our holiday
adventures. Great fun was had in many restaurants and bars
including spectating a wedding at the Devil’s Bridge
Restaurant on Torrcello being served draught Prosecco by the
litre. Thank Heavens we made the last Vaporetto back to the
mainland.

We must not forget the cultural side of things of which Lanti
was so well informed, always great company. With great
memories, with our fondest love.
